As a parent, you have witnessed how quickly your child can learn. Learning starts from the moment your child enters this world and continues at a rapid pace throughout early childhood. It is important to provide your child with a quality early education in order to capitalize on the years when he or she has the capacity to learn the most. If you have a young child, you may be wondering when you can enroll him or her into a Montessori program. The exact parameters will be different depending on the program. At Fountainhead Montessori School, you can enroll your child as early as eighteen months and they can continue through the program until they finish upper elementary around the age of twelve.

Preschool Montessori education

Children as young as eighteen months old can be enrolled in the preschool program at Fountainhead Montessori School. A high-quality early education can help prepare your child for success in formal schooling in the years to come. Montessori preschool is focused on practical life activities that teach students to be more independent and self-confident in their day to day lives.

Kindergarten Montessori education

As students approach the age of five, they can move from the preschool classroom to the kindergarten classroom. The Montessori kindergarten classroom provides students with developmentally appropriate learning activities that they can explore at their own pace. The learning in the Montessori kindergarten classroom is hands-on and multi-sensory. Students also have the opportunity to participate in enrichment programs throughout the year as well.

Lower elementary Montessori education

Lower elementary in the Fountainhead Montessori School program is for children ages six through nine. In this part of the program, students continue to have access to a prepared environment that is filled with developmentally appropriate opportunities for learning. Students get the opportunity daily to engage in focused independent learning and cooperative learning. Enrichment programs are an important part of lower elementary and include options such as music, garden, and foreign language immersion.

Upper elementary Montessori education

Upper elementary at Fountainhead Montessori School is for children who are between the ages of nine and twelve. The upper elementary program offers a customized learning experience to students to ensure that each student has the opportunity to master concepts that they will build upon through their academic career. The small teacher-to-student ratio allows for individualized instruction and makes it possible for students in upper elementary to learn at their own pace. Students in upper elementary also have opportunities to work in groups and develop important collaborative skills.

You can enroll your child in Montessori school at any of the ages that fall into the above categories. If you have a preschool aged child, you can give your child an excellent opportunity by enrolling her or him in a Montessori preschool program. If you have a child who is older than preschool, do not worry, your child can benefit from a Montessori education at any age – even if he or she already started formal education at a different program. You can get all of the information you need to get started on the process of enrolling in Fountainhead Montessori School on the school website.
