Montessori School Options in the Bay Area

21, Jun 2022

Finding a Montessori program close to home is an important factor when searching for Montessori school options in the Bay Area. Fortunately, there are several different Montessori campuses in Northern California from which to choose. A Montessori program has so many positives to offer students and their families and finding a campus relatively close to your home will make it all the more enjoyable.

Encouraging your child’s natural love of learning and the exploration of their favorite subjects without the added, unnecessary stress of grades and risk of failure through a Montessori program will benefit your child throughout their whole lives. Finding a Montessori school that sets your child up for success in academics and teaches them practical life skills that will grow confidence and independence in your child in the Bay Area is one of the greatest gifts you could give your child.

Locations

Through experienced Montessori programs in the Bay Area, like what Fountainhead Montessori School has to offer, different campus options can help you decide which program is right for your family. Fountainhead Montessori School campuses are located:

  • Livermore: Offers discovery camps, enrichment programs, and third-party after school programs, like other Fountainhead Montessori campuses.
  • Danville: At this location, both Spanish and Chinese language immersion programs are offered and Montessori prep classes can begin at 18 months old.
  • Pleasant Hill: Offers similar programs and classes as Danville.
  • Orinda: Montessori classes begin at age two. Spanish language immersion classes are offered.

The Montessori classroom

Rather than having a teacher instructing from the front of the classroom by providing lectures and passing out worksheets, a more exciting set up and way of learning is offered in a Montessori classroom by offering different stations that each focus on a particular skill. The teachers assist students who need help and to record different achievements the students have at a particular task. All of the stations are a hands-on exploration of all subjects from art and music, to sciences, math, and language skills. Montessori skills are honed in the areas of:

  • Concentration
  • Coordination
  • Independence

The right Montessori program for your child

The Montessori method has been around for well over 100 years and it has produced excellent, well-adjusted, skilled students who have an ever increasing desire to learn. With options like what age to start your student to second language immersion programs can make the difference when choosing which Montessori school you want your child to attend.

By taking the time to observe a couple different Montessori programs before choosing which school is right for your family, you will be confident in your decisions and excited about what your child will be learning in the up-coming school year. Talking with the administration and seeing real students thriving in a Montessori environment will help you get a clear picture of what it will be like for your child to attend a Montessori school.
